The Project Manager supports a Power Generation - Generation Station Projects management team and is responsible for managing capital projects from conception through completion.

The Project Manager will manage all aspects of assigned projects, including technical execution, construction, quality, cost, schedule, safety, and environmental compliance. Projects may include complex hydroelectric and power generation initiatives involving balance-of-plant systems, equipment retrofits, environmental improvements, and other large-scale capital projects.

The Project Manager serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and project teams to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of project objectives.

Candidates must be highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and possess strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The position may require field work, including confined-space entry, climbing stairs and ladders, wearing a respirator, prolonged standing, and other physical activities.

• Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including technical execution, construction, quality, cost, schedule, and overall project performance.
• Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring alignment with approved scope and project objectives.
• Develop and maintain station capital budgets.
• Manage approved project financial spend plans and cost forecasts while making decisions necessary to meet project financial goals.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors.
• Support project development, execution, commissioning, and transition to operations.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance are the primary focus for all personnel supporting assigned projects.
• Support site development and permitting activities, including air, water, state, and local permitting.
• Develop project scopes and support major contract negotiations involving equipment, engineering, EPC, construction, and other project services.
• Manage engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
• Manage contracts and commercial aspects of projects with suppliers and contractors.
• Utilize project management processes and tollgate reviews to manage projects through each stage of development and execution.
• Manage project-related administrative requirements and documentation.
• Coordinate system turnover packages, system walkdowns, punch-list management, and transition to operations.
• Coordinate with operations and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
• Ensure system documentation and project records are complete and accurate.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve project management processes and practices.
• Guide and coordinate project team members in support of project activities and objectives.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, performance, and milestones.
• Regularly communicate project progress, performance, issues, and potential risks to project leadership and stakeholders.
• Anticipate, mitigate, and resolve project issues and risks.
• Coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement approved changes.
• Manage multiple projects across multiple locations as required.
• Represent the project and organization in meetings and public forums when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Significant projects may include complex hydroelectric and power generation initiatives involving:

• Balance-of-plant systems
• Turbines and generators
• Pumps and motors
• Control systems
• Electrical and instrumentation systems
• Operations systems
• Equipment retrofits
• Environmental initiatives
• Pollution control equipment
• Large-scale construction projects
• Generation facility improvements
• Other capital improvement projects

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management, relevant technologies, and leadership within assigned project areas.
• Extensive knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of hydroelectric generation, power generation, construction, or related industries.
• Working knowledge of power generation and pollution control equipment.
• General knowledge of construction and operational field practices, equipment utilization, and work-component scheduling.
• Familiarity with OSHA scaffolding requirements and industry safety practices.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects within established time, cost, quality, and scope constraints.
• Experience developing, managing, and monitoring project performance against project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 7+ years of industry experience in construction, engineering, project management, or related disciplines.
• At least 3 years of demonstrated project management experience.
• Experience managing major power generation or industrial construction projects.
• Experience with contract negotiations for large-scale construction or generation projects.
• Experience developing Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
• Experience with capital budgeting and risk analysis.
• Knowledge of power generation, hydroelectric generation, renewable technologies, construction, or operation of electric generation facilities.
• Experience with major power plant equipment and systems.
• OSHA certification preferred but not required.

The Project Manager must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, which may include:

• Walking and prolonged standing.
• Climbing stairs and ladders.
• Stooping and bending.
• Working in industrial and power-generation facilities.
• Entering confined spaces when required.
• Wearing a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.
• Traveling between assigned project sites.
• Performing field activities necessary to support project execution.

The Project Manager will self-manage travel between assigned project sites as required when multiple sites are included in the assignment.

A $500 one-time mobilization/demobilization payment will be provided at the beginning and end of the assignment.

Per diem, if applicable, will be provided in accordance with the applicable GSA CONUS per diem policy.
