Pay: $120-130K/year + 10% Bonus 

Nature & Scope
The Maintenance Manager will manage facilities, equipment, and maintenance associates located at the Salem, Oregon production facilities. The Maintenance Manager will direct all activities related to supervising personnel engaged in the repair, modification, and installation of new and existing equipment and facility maintenance. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safety and technical training for employees. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Maintain parts and tool inventories and manage supply vendors and contractors.

Specific Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage, coordinate all maintenance planning, scheduling, and work execution for the maintenance department.
  • Maintain appropriate equipment records and history.
  • Manage the inspection, repair, replacement, adjustment, installation, wiring and maintenance of all equipment in the plant or an assigned area, including structural, crane, mobile equipment, hydraulics, freeze drying, refrigeration, pneumatics, plumbing, and piping maintenance.
  • Direct the installation, operation, relocation, and maintenance of all operational equipment.
  • Manage all spare parts and materials inventory.
  • Create regular schedules for mechanical repair, installation, prevention1 and inspection work.
  • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Initiate and carry out projects to improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Track, analyze, and improve maintenance key performance indicators, such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, downtime, etc.
  • Ability to use various tools, including but not limited to precision tools, drill press, power saw, grinders, threaders, pipe cutters drills, pullers, hoists, wrenches, etc.
  • Ensure environmental and safety compliance of the maintenance department and plant equipment/machinery.
  • Actively participate in cost reduction, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and team activities.
Key Skills Required
  • Basic programmable logic controller (PLC) programming knowledge.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints - electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety training.
  • Pet food and/or food manufacturing experience (required).
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, monitoring and general maintenance and repair.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills - ability to solve both complex and uncomplicated problems, clearly articulating decisions and a logical execution plan based on all available information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized with strong time- management and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Seif-directed, reliable, strong initiative, and bias for action.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with team members.
Qualifications
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Have a 2-year associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent.
  •  Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate the English language.
  • Successful completion of a substance screening and background check.
