Job Description

Warehouse Technician (Contract-to-Hire)

Pay: $22-$23/hr + overtime at 1.5x
Contract Length: 6 months contract-to-hire
Location: Baltimore, MD (21226 area)
Schedule: 40 hours/week plus 5-10 hours of overtime
Work Environment: Outdoor facility (not a traditional warehouse)


Position Overview

A growing environmental services operation is seeking a Facility Technician to support daily activities at a regulated storage and logistics site. This role is hands-on and ideal for candidates with solid warehouse, shipping, and receiving experience who are looking to build long-term stability and grow into a coordination role over time.

You will start as a Facility Technician with the opportunity to train into a 10-Day Storage Coordinator position. The team will provide training and support to help you succeed as volume increases.

Strong performers will have the opportunity to convert to a direct hire after six months.


Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures with health and safety as the top priority
  • Assist with the movement, staging, and storage of materials and drums
  • Transfer materials between trucks and designated storage areas
  • Support outbound shipments, including loading materials onto trucks
  • Assist with shipping and receiving documentation
  • Help maintain accurate inventory of materials and supplies
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • Forklift (Hi-Lo) experience
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening
  • Willingness to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training (training can be provided if not already held)

Note: Environmental experience is not required. This role is not intended for senior-level candidates.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
  • DOT training or familiarity with regulated shipments
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain alert and safety-focused at all times
  • Reliable, regular attendance
