We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Team Supervisor to lead and oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of electrical distribution and substation systems in and around the Denver, CO area. This leadership position is critical in driving project success across utility, industrial, and government infrastructure projects.
As a technical and managerial leader, you’ll supervise a team of engineers and serve as a subject matter expert for electrical power systems — from concept development through construction support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise an engineering team responsible for power distribution and substation project deliverables.
  • Coordinate the creation of engineering documents such as drawings, calculations, specs, and material lists.
  • Design and review sub-transmission, distribution, switching stations, and medium-voltage substation systems.
  • Ensure project designs meet client expectations, utility standards, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes.
  • Support project execution by responding to RFIs, participating in field visits, and acting as the Owner’s Engineer.
  • Conduct site surveys and attend pre-construction walkthroughs with clients and contractors.
  • Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and design alternatives for system improvement projects.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay current on power system modeling techniques, protection schemes, and analysis tools.

Requirements
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution (Power Systems focus preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
Experience
  • 8+ years in the electric utility industry or relevant power systems engineering roles.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical substations and distribution systems (medium voltage focus).
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage engineering deliverables.
  • Proficient with power system modeling and analysis tools such as ETAP or equivalent.
  • Experienced in creating technical documentation and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction project scheduling tools (MS Project experience a plus).
Soft Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Confident working directly with clients and managing technical relationships.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen (due to military base access requirements).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check for security clearance.
