Schedule: 40 hours

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT Program Manager in Cybersecurity to join a growing security team at our Bio-Technology Pharma client.
This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of critical projects, including initiatives such as Business Continuity & Crisis Management, NIST Cybersecurity Framework alignment, Quantum Readiness Assessments, and Zero Trust Architecture.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical cybersecurity requirements and structured project governance, ensuring all deliverables are achieved through strong planning, stakeholder management, and effective RFP and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain essential project artifacts, including project charters, RFP documentation, detailed project plans, and RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions).
- Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, and selection scoring.
- Drive project execution to ensure milestones are met across Q3 and Q4 roadmaps; facilitate regular status meetings and provide transparent reporting to executive leadership.
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT Security, Legal, Procurement, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of security protocols and policy development.
- Translate complex cybersecurity concepts--including quantum risk readiness--into clear, business-focused language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular status reports, lead team and governance meetings, and proactively identify and escalate risks and issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Prepare and present project reports, including status updates, risk assessments, and core project documentation.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Background in organizational change management within a cybersecurity environment.
Skills
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles (e.g., Identity & Access Management, encryption, network security, and NIST standards).
- Proven experience managing complex cybersecurity IT projects.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar) and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and GxP compliance.
- Demonstrated experience managing the full RFP lifecycle--from drafting through vendor selection, contract initiation, and execution planning.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
