Job Description

LabVantage LIMS Solutions Architect – Contract – Remote (US) – Up to 10% Travel – Eastern/Central locations
Technology Service Provider seeks a LabVantage LIMS Solutions Architect to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of LabVantage LIMS (v8.6 or higher) solutions supporting regulated pharmaceutical Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D labs. Top focus requirements include LabVantage LIMS architecture/configuration, GxP/CSV (21 CFR Part 11), integrations (ELN/SDMS/instruments/ERP), data migration/master data, and reporting/labeling (Jasper/Bartender). Additionally, this person will provide technical leadership and guidance to LIMS developers, analysts, and support teams. Opportunity provides a truly remote role, with like no more than 5% to 10% travel, that is long-term and could extend.


Benefits
  • Pay Range: $90–$110/hr (W2) OR $100–$120/hr (C2C) (max)
  • Work Arrangement: Remote (US ideal in eastern or central time zones ) with up to 10% travel (based on project phase/stakeholder needs)

Responsibilities

Lab Systems Architecture & LIMS Delivery
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture, design, and implementation of LabVantage LIMS across regulated pharma laboratory environments.
  • Translate business, laboratory, and regulatory requirements into scalable technical designs and system architecture.
  • Define LIMS data models, workflows, security, integrations, and reporting frameworks.
  • Produce architecture documentation, design specifications, and system SOPs/technical standards.
LabVantage Configuration, Modules & Integrations
  • Configure and customize LabVantage modules (e.g., Sample Management, Stability) and support expansion into adjacent capabilities as needed.
  • Design and oversee integrations/interfaces with enterprise and lab systems (e.g., ELN, SDMS, ERP/PLM, instrument interfaces).
  • Provide technical leadership to LIMS developers/analysts (build standards, design reviews, best practices).
    Validation/Compliance (GxP / 21 CFR Part 11)
  • Partner with QA/CSV/regulatory stakeholders to ensure compliant solution designs and delivery practices.
  • Oversee validation activities and deliverables including risk assessments and IQ/OQ/PQ documentation, plus change control support.
Production Support/Upgrades/Continuous Improvement
  • Support upgrades, performance optimization, troubleshooting/issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with globally distributed teams, vendors, and IT partners to ensure delivery alignment and execution.

Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of LabVantage LIMS implementation/architecture/enhancement/support experience in regulated (pharma/life sciences) environments in version 8.6 or higher.
  • Strong understanding of GxP, FDA expectations, and 21 CFR Part 11; hands-on CSV/validation leadership exposure (risk-based validation, IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Strong technical foundation in Oracle and SQL; working knowledge of Core Java and JavaScript in support of LIMS customization/integration.
  • 8+ years configuration/customization, documentation, and business process mapping.
  • Experience with integrations/interfaces to other systems (e.g., ERP, PLM, ELN/SDMS, instruments).
  • Experience with master data setup and data migration (legacy to target mapping/analysis).
  • Experience with Jasper Reports and Bartender label solutions.
  • Experience supporting geographically distributed teams.
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing integration patterns and working across the SDLC in complex enterprise environments (including SQL Server concepts where applicable).
  • Prior ownership of LIMS governance artifacts (standards, templates, SOP frameworks) and cross-site rollout strategy.
