Location: Mobile, AL
Pay: $25-$34/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 1st Shift

Join a Growing Facilities & Maintenance Team

We are seeking an experienced Dock Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and preventative care of commercial and industrial facility equipment. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience servicing loading dock equipment, commercial doors, and related systems.

You'll play a key role in ensuring facility operations run safely and efficiently while working in a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on loading dock equipment, overhead doors, automatic doors, dock locks, seals, bumpers, and related systems.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and document performance findings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility-related equipment issues.
  • Replace consumable components such as belts, hoses, filters, fluids, and other wear items.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general facility maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures including OSHA standards and lockout/tagout practices.
  • Accurately document completed work, maintenance activities, and recommendations using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Communicate effectively with site personnel regarding work status, findings, and expected completion timelines.
  • Support outside contractors and vendors when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience maintaining and repairing commercial dock equipment and related door systems.
  • Experience working with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, maintenance procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Preferred
  • Experience with commercial and industrial loading dock equipment, automatic doors, overhead doors, and access systems.
  • Trade school education or technical training.
  • Experience performing basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry repairs.
  • AAADM certification or similar industry credentials.
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or aerial lifts.

  • Ability to operate powered access equipment when required.
