Pay Range: $90-100/hour 


 

Senior Electrical Project Engineer. Engineer will report into the Central Engineering organization. Location is flexible but individual should be willing to travel for project work as needed throughout the US. This Engineer is a subject matter expert (SME) who, working with little or no supervision, can apply advanced scientific and engineering knowledge and ingenuity to complete complex assignments related to the Instrument and Electrical Engineering discipline. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Reviews and approves Electrical Engineering Documents during all project phases.
  • Develops electrical project scopes, plans, and participates in vendor selection.
  • Leads and manages project teams with internal and external resources to complete electrical engineering deliverables. Interacts with both senior management and external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
  • Initiates Management of Change (MOCs) and participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA and LOPA).
  • Participates in Commissioning and Startup Activities.
  • Identifies, plans, and conducts projects of various sizes/complexities within engineering specialty requiring custom, risk-managed execution plans, investigations, and/or equipment. Analyzing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to different teams.
  • Conducts data sourcing and analysis for the development of benchmarks internally and externally.
  • Conceptualizes complete solutions. Creates or coordinates the design solutions for novel or complex problems; integrates regulatory and operational needs; assesses cost benefit. Structures studies and integrate cross-disciplinary and cross-functional issues to arrive at optimal course of action.
  • Represents the organization as a technical contact on contracts and projects.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Engineering policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Identified as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the discipline and provides training. Participates in internal, cross-divisional teams to develop and align procedures and standards.

Required Qualifications

 

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of engineering experience, with at least a portion of that experience in the chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of PSM, specifically for electrical standards.
  • Knowledge and application of the current version of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Familiarity with specifications and installation details of construction bulk materials and equipment.
  • Familiarity with 15kV power system equipment and installation techniques both above and below ground.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • M.S. degree in engineering and/or PE license
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project
  • 5+ years of experience using SAP systems
