Senior Technical Project Manager - Cybersecurity

Compensation Range: $65-70/hr W2


Introduction
Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to oversee complex cybersecurity initiatives spanning infrastructure, cloud, identity, and application security. This role will coordinate efforts across Information Security, IAM, GRC, Infrastructure, Engineering, Compliance, application teams, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong technical project management experience, a solid understanding of enterprise security, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Build and manage security project roadmaps, schedules, milestones, and key deliverables.
• Oversee multiple cybersecurity initiatives simultaneously, ensuring projects remain aligned with business priorities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage dependencies, and drive resolution of issues and obstacles.
• Partner with security, infrastructure, engineering, compliance, and business teams to maintain project momentum.
• Lead steering committees, governance meetings, and project working sessions.
• Develop executive communications, status reports, KPIs, KRIs, and other measures of program health.
• Identify project risks and provide recommendations to support informed, risk-based decisions.
• Monitor budgets, timelines, risks, and overall project performance.

• 5-10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, technology, or technical program/project management.
• Experience delivering security initiatives within large, complex enterprise environments.
• Working knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), with exposure to Security Operations and Vulnerability Management.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics, risks, and impacts into clear business language.
• Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive accountability without direct authority.
• Highly organized with strong documentation, risk/issue tracking, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root-cause analysis and development of practical remediation strategies.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and quickly develop knowledge of unfamiliar security areas.

• Experience with enterprise risk management frameworks, regulatory compliance initiatives, and audit programs.
• Knowledge of security control assessments, control testing, policies and standards, security exceptions, and risk remediation.
• Familiarity with data protection and cloud security practices.
