Job Description

Job Title: Jr. Project Manager
Duration: 4-5month contract 
Location: Paramus, 
Pay: $44/hr. 
1-3 years of experience 

Project Delivery

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of data models to enable self-service Business Intelligence (BI) for users.
  • Support requirements gathering for new data ingestion initiatives and business data needs.
  • Monitor project milestones and critical paths to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Track actual spend against planned budgets and proactively flag variances.
  • Perform resource capacity planning and adjust resources as needed based on project demands and workload.
  • Act as the primary administrator for Jira boards. Ensure developer tasks are accurately captured, assigned, and updated.
  • Maintain backlog hygiene and track team velocity.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing clear and regular communication regarding project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure effective collaboration and that tasks are appropriately delegated and executed.
Risk Management
  • Identify potential project bottlenecks, including data quality issues and compute resource limitations.
  • Maintain a current risk register with clearly defined mitigation plans.
  • Proactively communicate risks and issues to appropriate stakeholders.
Team Coordination
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the Data Platform team and associated departments.
  • Facilitate standard Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Retrospectives.
Continuous Improvement
  • Promote and support a continuous improvement mindset across the team.
  • Analyze project performance data to identify opportunities for process and delivery improvements.
Reporting
  • Regularly report project progress, issues, risks, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure transparency and visibility into program status and performance.
  • Perform regular budget tracking and reporting.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, IT support, or a related field, or demonstrated passion and aptitude for project management.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to manage multiple projects simultaneously with appropriate guidance and mentorship.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira or GitLab is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Business Intelligence concepts, data warehouses, data management, and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery or similar data warehouse technologies is beneficial.
  • Strong interest and willingness to learn about Data and AI platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to evolving project requirements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Certifications / Training
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management knowledge is beneficial.
  • Agile/Scrum Master certification or similar certification is preferred.
  • Certifications related to data management, digital solutions, or sustainability are beneficial.
