About the Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong Informatica Cloud (IDMC/IICS) and Workday data extraction experience to support a large-scale enterprise data extraction and archival initiative.

This is a highly hands-on opportunity focused on extracting historical employee data, documents, attachments, metadata, and business-process history from a legacy Workday environment and loading it into a governed Oracle on-premises archive.

The project involves a complex, API-driven extraction process spanning numerous Workday endpoints and requires careful preservation of effective-dated history, object relationships, business-process history, and referential integrity.

What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and operate data extraction and integration pipelines using Informatica Cloud (IDMC/IICS).
  • Extract data from Workday using Web Services, RaaS, custom reports, and/or Workday connectors.
  • Work across multiple Workday domains, including:
    • Core HCM
    • Payroll
    • Time Tracking
    • Benefits
    • Compensation
    • Learning
    • Performance
    • Recruiting
    • Onboarding
    • Business Process History
  • Sequence and optimize API calls while implementing retries, logging, checkpointing, and restartability.
  • Transform and load data into Oracle using a layered data architecture.
  • Preserve keys, relationships, and referential integrity across complex Workday datasets.
  • Ensure effective-dated history and point-in-time views can be accurately reconstructed.
  • Develop data validation, reconciliation, and quality controls to verify completeness and accuracy.
  • Support extraction of large volumes of historical documents and attachments.
  • Implement appropriate security and compliance controls around sensitive employee data.
  • Support dry runs, cutover readiness, defect resolution, hypercare, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on Informatica Cloud (IDMC/IICS) pipeline development experience.
  • Strong practical Workday data extraction experience.
  • Experience with Workday Web Services, RaaS, custom reports, and/or Workday connectors.
  • Understanding of Workday's effective-dated data structures and object relationships.
  • Strong SQL and relational data modeling experience.
  • Experience loading data into Oracle, preferably an on-premises environment.
  • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data quality engineering.
  • Understanding of record-count reconciliation, primary/foreign key integrity, null checks, duplicate checks, and related controls.
  • Experience working with sensitive or personal data and implementing appropriate security, access, and audit controls.
  • Ability to work hands-on across extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and archival processes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the Informatica Workday connector.
  • Experience supporting large-scale data migration or archival programs.
  • Experience working with large volumes of documents and attachments.
  • Experience preserving referential integrity across large enterprise datasets.
  • Power BI or similar experience for validation dashboards and extraction reporting.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and/or PIPEDA requirements.
  • Experience with encryption, RBAC, audit logging, retention, legal hold, and chain-of-custody controls.
  • Familiarity with Workday IDMC/Workday Connector procurement and setup.

Why This Opportunity?
  • Work on a technically complex, enterprise-scale data engineering and archival initiative.
  • Gain hands-on experience across Informatica IDMC, Workday, Oracle, SQL, APIs, and data governance.
  • Work with complex effective-dated Workday data and large volumes of historical employee information.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a project where data accuracy, traceability, and preservation are critical.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior Data Engineer who can operate comfortably across the entire data pipeline--from Workday extraction and API orchestration through transformation, Oracle loading, validation, reconciliation, and archival.

Strong candidates will have particularly deep IDMC/IICS + Workday extraction experience and be comfortable working with complex enterprise data structures, sensitive employee information, and large-scale integration processes.
