Job Description
Job Details: Senior Data Engineer - Informatica IDMC / Workday
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with strong Informatica Cloud (IDMC/IICS) and Workday experience to design, build, and operate data pipelines that extract employee data, documents, and metadata from a legacy Workday environment and load it into a governed Oracle on-premises archive.
The consultant will build extraction pipelines using Informatica IDMC and Workday connectors across multiple Workday domains, including Core HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits, Compensation, Learning, Performance, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Business Process History.
The role will involve sequencing and optimizing API calls across Workday Web Services, RaaS, and custom reports, while implementing retries, logging, checkpointing, and reconciliation mechanisms to ensure resilient and restartable extraction.
The consultant will model and load data into Oracle across a layered architecture while preserving keys and referential integrity across worker, position, organization, compensation, payroll, and benefits objects.
A key responsibility will be preserving effective-dated history and point-in-time views so employee lifecycle, compensation, organizational, payroll, and benefits changes can be reconstructed accurately.
The consultant will implement validation, reconciliation, and data-quality controls to demonstrate completeness, accuracy, and traceability against the source Workday environment.
The role will also involve applying security and compliance controls for sensitive employee data, including encryption in transit and at rest, RBAC/SSO, retention, legal hold, audit logging, and chain-of-custody requirements.
The consultant will support cutover readiness and hypercare, including dry runs, defect resolution, documentation, and knowledge transfer to operational teams.
Must Have Requirements- Hands-on Informatica Cloud (IDMC/IICS) pipeline development experience.
- Strong practical Workday data extraction experience using Web Services, RaaS, custom reports, and/or Workday connectors.
- Understanding of Workday's non-relational, effective-dated data structures and object relationships.
- Strong SQL and relational data modeling experience.
- Experience loading data into Oracle, preferably in an on-premises environment.
- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data-quality engineering, including record-count reconciliation, PK/FK integrity, null checks, and duplicate checks.
- Experience working with sensitive/personal data and implementing appropriate security, access, and audit controls.
- Ability to work hands-on across data extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and archival processes.
- Experience specifically with the Informatica Workday connector.
- Experience with large-scale migration or archival programs.
- Experience handling 100K+ documents or similarly large volumes of attachments.
- Experience preserving referential integrity across large enterprise datasets.
- Power BI or equivalent experience for validation dashboards and extraction summaries.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and/or PIPEDA requirements.
- Experience with encryption, RBAC, audit logging, retention, legal hold, and chain-of-custody controls.
- Familiarity with Workday IDMC/Workday Connector procurement and setup considerations.
