JOB DETAILS
Client Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Hydro Plants   

Duration: 1 year Contract to hire 
LocationsRancho Cordova, CA Onsite 
Pay Rate: $65/hr. - $70/hr.

Position Summary
  • Function in an engineering capacity.
  • Develop and modify technical deliverables associated with modifications and upgrades to existing hydroelectric generating plants.
  • With minimal supervision, apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses. Continue building technical knowledge to develop concepts and approaches to increasingly complex engineering problems.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hydro or fossil power generation plant design.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70.
  • Familiarity with California Electrical Code.
  • Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM or ETAP is a plus.
  • Experience with Bluebeam.
  • PE license preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Develop knowledge and provide guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and engineering policies.
  • Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and engineering disciplines.
  • Independently apply technical knowledge and comply with established quality programs and standards related to assigned tasks.
  • Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects.
  • Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Independently apply advanced engineering techniques, analysis, and problem-solving methods.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to lower-level team members to support project execution and team development.
  • Review lower-level engineering work and assignments.
  • Lead production teams, coordinate multiple-discipline activities, and/or serve as the responsible engineer for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.
  • Assist with identifying key client interests, requirements, and project drivers.
  • Design complete projects of moderate complexity or support multiple projects involving complex technical challenges.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • PE license preferred.
