Job Title:  Workday Systems Supervisor - Talent & Performance
Location: Remote 
Onsite Requirements: Consultant should be open to going onsite for milestone meetings
Compensation Range:  $70-90 per hr depending on experience
 


Introduction
The Workday Systems Supervisor provides both technical and operational leadership for the organization's Workday Talent and Performance platform. This position oversees a team responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing Workday functionality while ensuring system stability, accurate configuration, effective testing, and a positive end-user experience. Working closely with HR Centers of Excellence, HRIS, IT, and business leaders, the supervisor helps drive system enhancements, streamline processes, and improve adoption across the organization.

In addition to managing daily team operations, this role serves as the primary functional expert for Workday Talent and Performance. Responsibilities include guiding configuration decisions, resolving complex functional issues, supporting Workday releases, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The supervisor mentors team members, establishes operational priorities, promotes best practices, and delivers training and knowledge sharing to ensure the team is equipped to support both new initiatives and ongoing business needs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and support to the Workday Talent and Performance team, fostering growth and collaboration.
  • Manage daily support activities, ensuring timely issue resolution and system enhancements.
  • Coordinate team priorities and provide ongoing coaching and guidance.
  • Act as the functional expert for Workday Talent, including Performance, Goals, Succession, Career Development, and Talent Reviews.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • Configure and optimize Workday Talent and Performance to support business needs.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions to identify enhancement opportunities and process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and lead resolution efforts across functional teams.
  • Coordinate Workday release testing, validation, and deployment activities.
  • Maintain system documentation, testing materials, and operational procedures.
  • Analyze support trends and system performance to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Encourage governance, standardization, and Workday best practices.
  • Support change management efforts and user adoption of new features.
  • Collaborate with Reporting, Security, Integrations, and HCM teams on enterprise initiatives.
  • Champion ongoing system enhancements while delivering exceptional support to HR and business partners.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered.
  • Minimum of 6 years supporting and optimizing Workday Talent and Performance solutions in a live production environment.
  • Previous experience providing team leadership, mentoring, or day-to-day oversight of Workday or HRIS professionals.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Workday Talent functionality, including Performance, Goals, Talent Reviews, Succession, and Career Development.
  • Experience maintaining Workday configurations, delivering enhancements, and supporting ongoing system operations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with HR leaders and business partners to translate operational needs into scalable system solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday business processes, security concepts, reporting, and tenant maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday update cycles, impact assessments, testing, validation, and production deployments.
  • Skilled at diagnosing complex functional issues, identifying root causes, and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across technical and business teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
