Title: Content Writer
Location: New York City or Plano,TX
Pay: $58- 63 per hour
Duration:12 month contract
The Planet Group is seeking a highly organized and analytically driven Content Strategist and Writer. This role is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about content marketing and thought leadership within the financial services sector.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing research-based content focused on markets, investing, and wealth planning within a large financial institution. Content deliverables include articles, white papers, social media posts, web content, video scripts, and promotional copy for channels such as newsletters and email campaigns. This role also requires strong project management skills and hands-on experience navigating complex editorial, legal, and compliance review processes.

Reporting to: Lead Editor
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage multiple content projects using project management systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality content
Content Development
- Write timely, insightful thought leadership content for web, email, and social channels
- Develop content that enhances brand positioning, drives lead generation, and engages clients
Content Promotion
- Partner with marketing and promotions teams to develop campaign strategies
- Create compelling promotional copy for web, social media, newsletters, and email
Research & Insights
- Identify and reference credible sources for articles, white papers, and case studies
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and advisors to ensure content relevance and accuracy
Simplification of Complex Topics
- Translate complex financial concepts into clear, engaging, and accessible content
Brand Consistency
- Ensure all content aligns with established brand voice, tone, and messaging guidelines
Review & Compliance
- Manage editorial workflows, including subject matter, legal, and compliance reviews
- Incorporate feedback and ensure all content meets regulatory and quality standards
Performance Analysis
- Analyze content performance and apply insights to optimize future content strategies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in content marketing within a financial services environment
- Proven experience developing and executing multi-channel content strategies (web, email, social, video, etc.)
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing needs
- Experience working within regulated environments, including managing legal and compliance review processes
- Proficiency with analytics tools and a data-driven approach to content optimization
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and seniority levels
- High attention to detail with a strong risk-awareness mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using AI tools to support content creation and strategy
- Familiarity with content performance analytics and optimization techniques
- Experience working in highly matrixed, enterprise environments
