Job Title: Tableau Developer
Location: Hybrid, onsite each Wednesday; San Diego, CA
Contract length: 6 months
Schedule: Fulltime, M-F
Pay: $45/hr to $50.27/hr, DOE

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Business Data Analyst to join our Commercial Growth Analytics team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind turning complex data into clear, actionable, and visually compelling insights. You will develop and maintain enterprise-level dashboards while championing data visualization best practices across the Commercial organization. The ideal candidate is a Tableau expert who is just as comfortable managing server environments as they are consolidating calculated fields or writing intricate LOD calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard Development: Design, build, and deploy highly interactive, user-friendly, and performant Tableau dashboards that answer critical business questions
  • Champion Best Practices: Apply strict data visualization and Tableau development best practices to ensure all reports are intuitive, accurate, and scalable. Consolidate existing Tableau content as needed to ensure a compact set of content with minimal duplication
  • Complex Calculations: Utilize advanced Tableau functionality, specifically complex calculated fields and Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, to perform advanced analytical computations
  • Tableau Server Management: Manage Tableau Server capabilities, including structuring content, managing user access/permissions, and maintaining certified shared data sources


Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 4+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in Tableau development and data visualization
  • Advanced Tableau Skills: Deep expertise in Tableau Desktop, including an advanced understanding of complex calculated fields, parameters, sets, and LOD expressions
  • Tableau Data Source Expertise: Demonstrated comfort and proficiency in working with multiple data sources and understanding the nuances of how Tableau handles data relationships
  • Server Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Tableau Server infrastructure, encompassing content management, permissions & capability provisioning, and shared data source administration
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous eye for detail and data accuracy


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Snowflake cloud data platform
  • SQL Foundation: A solid, baseline understanding of SQL, demonstrating comfort in writing queries to extract, join, and analyze data from relational databases
  • Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or Tableau Server Certified Professional designations
  • Self-starter, well-organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative team member
  • Effective time and project management skills
