LabWare LIMS Systems Engineer - (Contract) - Onsite - Detroit, MI
Digital Lab Consultancy seeks a LabWare LIMS Systems Engineer and Analyst to serve throughout full SDLC on day-to-day operations and stability of LabWare LIMS to include user-facing, documentation, and solutions design; for a 6-month contract. This person will have 5+ years' experience performing hands-on LabWare LIMS development, configuration, customization, and integrations through API integrations. The ideal individual will have proficiency in LIMS Basic (Visual Basic), Java, Python, JavaScript (Node.js/Reach), and SQL. This individual will also have expertise in LIMS and lab system integrations to include ERPs, CRMs, Lab Instrumentation, and web technologies (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML). This opportunity offers a W2 or 1099 hourly paid contract for 6 months and with potential extensions.

Benefits:

  • $65/hr. - $80/hr. W2 pay or $70/hr. - $90/hr. 1099 pay.
  • Ideal candidate will be located local to the Detroit,  MI area with the ability to be onsite 5 days a week.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on expertise in LabWare LIMS including system development, configuration, customization, and API utilization.
  • Proficiency in LIMS Basic/Visual Basic, Python, Java, JavaScript (Node.js/React), and SQL.
  • Prior experience integrating LIMS with other systems to include lab sequencers, ERPs, CRMs, and web technologies like REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON.
  • Life Science experience like Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Clinical Laboratory or Animal Health.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance like ISO or GLP.
  • Expertise in code quality and linting tools, with a strong testing/automation mindset.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining LIMS configurations, customizations, and integrations, while following secure code best practices.
  • Utilization of code quality, linting, and testing/automation tools while ensuring reliable and repeatable system deployment environment.
  • Overseeing code quality, change control, and other aspects of development related to LabWare upgrades.
  • Designing/Maintaining technical documentation to include system architecture, process flows, configuration guides, and runbooks.
  • Ensuring LIMS configurations and processes are in adherence to ISO, GLP and other regulatory standards.
  • Supporting audit readiness activity and data integrity initiatives across lab environment and systems.
  • Designing and maintaining integrations between various systems like LIMS, lab instrumentation, ERP, CRM, and other technical enterprise systems, while using REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.
  • Driving lab workflow automation and digitization to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.
  • Maintaining ongoing LabWare LIMS stability, performance, and operations throughout projects.
  • Monitoring system health to proactively identify issues and implement correct actions while preventing lab workflow disruption.
  • Serving as primarily LIMS POC in the escalation of critical incidents, and outages related to the LabWare LIMS; while leading root-cause analysis and resolution.
  • Liaising cross-functionally with stakeholders in the gathering and authoring of requirements, mapping as is versus future processes and translating business needs into technical specifications and process plans.
  • Serving as LIMS SME on process flows, business logic, and platform capabilities.
  • Designing scalable/maintainable solutions in alignment with organizational goals/regulatory standards.
  • Partnering with various users like Quality, Lab Operations, Data Governance and Analytics teams to ensure system capabilities alignment with operational needs, while communicating technical concepts in laymen's terms.
