Technical Writer (data focused)
The Planet Group's Financial client is seeking a Technical Writer with a data background to support the development of high-quality executive materials and storytelling for senior leadership. This role is focused on writing, structuring, and producing executive-ready content, not presenting or facilitating meetings.

The ideal candidate will have a technical writing, content strategy, or consulting communications background and the ability to translate complex data, AI, and technology concepts into clear, structured, and visually compelling materials. They should be highly proficient in PowerPoint as a production tool (not presenting), with a strong emphasis on narrative flow, clarity, and executive polish.

This person will act as a behind-the-scenes story builder and content developer, partnering closely with data, engineering, and strategy teams to turn technical inputs into decision-ready executive deliverables.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Write and build executive-level PowerPoint presentations for C-suite and senior leadership (storyline, structure, and slide development)
* Translate complex technical content from data, engineering, and platform teams into clear, executive-ready narratives
* Develop structured storytelling frameworks that ensure logical flow, clarity, and decision readiness
* Produce high-quality written executive communications including leadership emails, newsletters, and internal announcements
* Build and refine presentation layouts that visually communicate key messages (no presenting required)
* Support development of data and AI strategy materials, including transformation updates and platform narratives
* Assist in creating scorecards and reporting materials for AI-ready data OKRs at the IT and enterprise level
* Manage high-volume, fast-turnaround content requests with strong attention to detail and consistency of tone

Must Haves
* 5+ years of experience in technical writing, executive communications, consulting support roles, or content development within a tech/data environment
* Strong background in technical writing or storytelling for complex technology topics
* Advanced PowerPoint skills focused on building and structuring presentations (not presenting)
* Strong Excel skills for organizing data, supporting analysis, and structuring inputs for storytelling
* Ability to translate technical concepts (data architecture, cloud platforms, AI/LLMs) into clear business language
* Experience working with data or engineering teams and interpreting technical material
* Exceptional writing, editing, and narrative structuring skills
* Strong attention to detail with ability to operate in a high-velocity environment

Nice to Haves
* Background in technical writing, product documentation, or enterprise communications
* Prior consulting support, knowledge management, or internal strategy communications experience
* Exposure to data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS) or AI/ML concepts
* Experience building executive-facing decks or structured business narratives in prior roles
* Familiarity with OKR/KPI reporting or enterprise scorecard development
* Experience in high-growth tech or transformation programs
* MBA or equivalent business/communications training
