Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support the maintenance and operation of commercial HVAC systems within a professional facilities environment. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment while also supporting general building maintenance needs.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with commercial HVAC systems, and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication with internal teams and site contacts.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment including package units and split systems.

  • Inspect, test, and repair components such as belts, pulleys, compressors, motors, contactors, and circuit boards.

  • Clean and maintain condensate drain lines and ensure proper airflow and system performance.

  • Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues including electrical and mechanical failures.

  • Service steam and hot water boiler systems as needed.

  • Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA regulations.

  • Perform brazing and repair of copper piping when required.

  • Maintain, test, and troubleshoot AC motor controls and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

  • Support additional maintenance tasks related to plumbing, electrical, and general building systems when needed.

  • Complete work orders, service documentation, and inspection reports using mobile technology.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and site contacts to ensure quality service and customer satisfaction.

  • Follow all safety guidelines, building codes, and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in required safety training and meetings.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; trade certification or technical training preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Familiarity with boilers, compressors, motors, and control systems.

  • Ability to read technical instructions, safety documents, and service manuals.

  • EPA Universal Certification required.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices.
