Title - Intelligence Analyst
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 month
Pay Rate: $ 60-65 per /hr (DOE)
We have 4 openings for an Intelligence Analyst for a 12 month contract remote role.
- Serve as the central intake and triage point for internal and external intelligence referrals submitted through designated channels, including referral forms and shared inboxes.
- Review internal referrals against established program criteria to determine acceptance or rejection, documenting the rationale for all triage decisions.
- Process external referrals from law enforcement, child safety organizations, and nongovernmental agencies by logging, researching, and triaging incoming leads.
- Conduct exposure and account matching across Block product platforms using available identifiers, including names, dates of birth, SSNs, Cashtags, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, and BTC wallet information.
- Utilize open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques and internal tools to identify and document associations between referred activity and Block customer accounts.
- Determine and document triage outcomes, such as assignment created, no exposure, exposure but covered, or exposure but no activity, and update tracking systems accordingly.
- Route accepted referrals by creating investigation cases with appropriate tags, including patterns, origins, and products, and assigning cases to the appropriate investigative queues.
- Process employee and contractor referrals with appropriate sensitivity handling and restricted queue routing.
- Support post-SAR law enforcement outreach by collecting SAR-related metadata and escalating requests to team leads for formal dissemination.
- Maintain accurate records across intake trackers, assignment logs, and other applicable systems.
- Receive, track, document, and triage 314(b) requests from member institutions, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Conduct open-source and internal database research on subjects related to 314(b) requests.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting related to 314(b) requests, including turnaround times and outcomes.
- Monitor and respond to SAR supporting documentation requests from law enforcement.
- Track and document each request and follow up with law enforcement regarding additional inquiries or information needed.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Escalate complex or sensitive matters to appropriate internal teams and leadership as needed.
- 2+ years of experience in enhanced due diligence (EDD), transaction monitoring, compliance/AML, financial crimes, or intelligence analysis within a financial institution, law enforcement agency, or payments-focused company.
- Direct experience with intelligence triage, case intake, referral processing, or investigations within a financial crimes or compliance environment.
- Experience processing 314(b) requests and/or fulfilling law enforcement documentation requests.
- Knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, financial crime risks, and relevant typologies.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct exposure checks and account matching across multiple platforms and data sources.
- Proficiency with open-source intelligence (OSINT) research and collection techniques.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage time-sensitive requests and competing priorities independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and track high volumes of requests and referrals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within structured workflows while documenting decisions and supporting rationale clearly.
- Experience with SQL and/or Snowflake for conducting exposure and account research.
- Familiarity with blockchain analytics platforms such as Chainalysis or TRM.
- Experience using investigative databases such as TLOxp, LexisNexis, or similar platforms.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as CAMS, CFE, CFCS, or CRCM.
- Prior experience working with FinCEN's 314(b) information-sharing program.
- Experience handling sensitive employee or contractor investigations with appropriate discretion.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
