Mechanical Engineer
Location: Ira Township, MI (Hybrid)
Contract: 12 months
Schedule: 40 Hours
Pay: $48/hr - $50/hr (DOE)

Mechanical Engineer | Qualifications:

• Experience in the design, construction, or operation of natural gas compressor station equipment
• Experience in reviewing designs to assure compliance with engineering design, applicable codes, constructability, and industry standards.
  Knowledge of:
  • CFR 49 Part 192 Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline (Minimum Federal Safety Standards), and/or Michigan Gas Safety Standards Guide (MGSS), Knowledge of ASME Codes & Standards e.g., ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ASME B16.5/16.47, ASME BPVC, etc.
  • API Specifications & Standards e.g., API 5L, API 6D, API 1104, etc.
• Experience in:
  • Procurement of engineered material, equipment and professional services.
  • Coordinating/developing contract documents (RFPs), engineering drawings/technical specifications for both consulting and construction

• This role supports modifications to existing facilities and new construction projects at our natural gas compressor stations.
• Project Engineers work in team settings in the role of lead and/or support engineer.
• Project Engineering works closely with project managers, engineers of other disciplines, system engineers, environmental, operations and maintenance personnel, outage managers, construction managers, external engineers of record (Architectural & Engineering firms), construction contractors, and vendor representatives to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and on budget.
• This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of engineering on projects to ensure they meet the owner's objectives in terms of safety, regulatory compliance, scope, quality, cost-effectiveness, and schedule adherence.
• This role requires a strong understanding of natural gas and balance of plant systems, application of engineering principles, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• The candidate must independently evaluate, select, and apply engineering theory, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
• The Engineer will be required to travel to the compressor stations on average 3 days per week and as much as 5 days per week.
