Job Description
A Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer responsible for supporting the planning, design, and documentation of HVAC systems for a variety of building projects. This individual will collaborate with internal project teams and client representatives to define requirements, develop code-compliant mechanical designs, and assist with construction-phase reviews.
Required:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
- EIT (preferred)
- 2-4 years of HVAC design experience for educational, commercial and/or municipal projects.
- Revit proficiency
- Excellent communication skills.
- Meeting with clients' representatives to establish project requirements and preferences.
- Designing and analyzing HVAC systems, and verifying that designs comply with local and national codes and company standards.
- Conduct predesign site visits to survey existing conditions, prepare preliminary drawings, and obtain necessary approvals.
- Develop contract documents (calculations, design drawings, schematics, and details) for construction and will review submittals to verify conformance with those documents.
- As the experience level grows, conducting site observations to verify conformance with contract documents and building codes.
- Additional duties may include the design of plumbing and fire safety systems.
