Our client, a highly respected organization within the Financial Services and Banking industry, is seeking a Senior Workday HRIS Manager to take ownership of its global Workday ecosystem and lead the next phase of HR technology optimization

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced HRIS professional who can operate as both a strategic advisor and hands-on Workday leader. The successful candidate will partner closely with HR leadership, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to shape the HR technology roadmap, maximize the value of Workday, and drive continuous improvement across the organization

Reporting to the Director of Talent, this individual will serve as the primary Workday subject matter expert and strategic advisor. The ideal candidate will bring the confidence to communicate with senior leaders, the business presence to influence decisions, and the Workday expertise needed to guide optimization efforts across a modern HR technology environment

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Leading the global HR technology roadmap and aligning Workday capabilities with evolving business priorities and organizational growth
  • Advising HR leadership, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional teams on Workday strategy, optimization opportunities, and technology decisions
  • Driving post-go-live Workday optimization initiatives, enhancements, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Translating business requirements into scalable Workday solutions, process improvements, and system enhancements
  • Managing Workday operations, including system support, releases, testing, and production issue resolution
  • Overseeing Workday functionality across Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence Management
  • Performing and guiding light Workday configuration, business process updates, and functional enhancements
  • Developing Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide actionable workforce insights
  • Improving HR data quality, governance, security, and reporting accessibility
  • Leading HRIS projects from requirements gathering through planning, testing, deployment, and adoption
  • Coordinating initiatives across HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Managing external Workday partners and vendors to ensure successful delivery and ongoing support
  • Supporting mergers and acquisitions through employee data migration, configuration, testing, and process alignment
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing an existing HRIS team member while establishing clear priorities and accountability
  • Presenting recommendations, project updates, risks, and decisions to senior leadership and executive stakeholders

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of progressive HRIS experience, including significant experience supporting Workday environments
  • Strong functional knowledge across multiple Workday HCM modules
  • Experience owning or contributing to an HR technology roadmap
  • Proven experience leading Workday optimization, enhancement, or implementation initiatives
  • Experience supporting Workday through implementation, hypercare, stabilization, and post-go-live optimization
  • Strong project management skills, including requirements gathering, planning, prioritization, testing, and deployment
  • Experience with Workday reporting and light functional configuration
  • Ability to translate business needs into effective system and process solutions
  • Strong understanding of HR data integrity, security, governance, and controls
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or leading HRIS professionals
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with C-suite executives and senior business leaders
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational responsibilities
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential employee and compensation information4
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, HR Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience participating in or leading a Workday implementation
  • Experience integrating acquired businesses or employee populations into Workday
  • Experience supporting Workday in a global or multi-country organization
  • Functional expertise with Workday Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence Management
  • Experience supporting annual compensation cycles, including salary reviews, bonus planning, equity analysis, and budgeting
  • Experience with Workday integration tools such as EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, or APIs
  • Experience creating Advanced, Matrix, or Composite Workday Reports
  • Workday certification or prior Workday partner consulting experience
