Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to make an impact on diverse commercial and industrial projects? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering consulting firm that values technical excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
In this hybrid role, you'll lead the design and execution of electrical systems for commercial and institutional facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, and contractors from concept through construction. You'll work on projects involving lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, communications, and IT infrastructure while ensuring designs meet current codes, sustainability standards, and quality expectations.
This position offers long-term career stability, opportunities to mentor junior engineers, exposure to a wide variety of challenging projects, and the chance to contribute to innovative engineering solutions across multiple industries.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing PE licensure
- 10+ years of experience designing commercial building electrical systems
- Experience with:
- Lighting design
- Power distribution
- Fire alarm systems
- Communications and IT infrastructure
- Knowledge of current electrical codes and LEED principles
- Ability to manage projects through design, construction documentation, and field support
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities or industrial process power distribution
- AutoCAD and Revit experience
- Familiarity with power system analysis or lighting design software
- Project management and client relationship experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
