Business Continuity Manager
Compensation: $150,000-$160,000 base salary + bonus (Contract-to-hire option available at $80-85/hour for candidates who prefer C2H.)
Location: Remote within the Midwest with travel to regional office locations approximately 3 times per month.
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Continuity Manager to build and lead an enterprise-wide Business Continuity Program from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic, hands-on leader who enjoys creating structure, partnering across the business, and driving organizational resilience.
You'll work closely with executive leadership, IT, Risk Management, and operational teams to establish business continuity governance, develop recovery strategies, and ensure critical business functions remain resilient in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
This role offers the opportunity to shape the organization's long-term continuity strategy while influencing key business decisions across multiple locations.
Responsibilities-
Build, implement, and mature an enterprise-wide Business Continuity Program from the ground up.

Establish business continuity governance, policies, standards, and best practices.

Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to identify critical business processes and recovery priorities.

Develop, maintain, and enhance business continuity plans across business units.

Lead continuity exercises, tabletop simulations, and testing initiatives while driving continuous program improvement.

Partner with IT, Risk Management, Operations, and business leaders to align continuity strategies with organizational objectives.

Identify operational risks and strengthen organizational resilience across critical business functions.

Collaborate with stakeholders to support disaster recovery planning and third-party resilience initiatives.

Present program updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for Business Continuity Planning.

7+ years of Business Continuity experience with a proven track record of building or significantly maturing enterprise Business Continuity Programs.

Hands-on experience conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), developing continuity plans, facilitating continuity testing, and establishing program governance.

Experience supporting organizations that rely heavily on ERP systems to drive daily business operations.

Strong understanding of how technology and business processes work together to maintain operational continuity.

Proven ability to influence executive leadership and collaborate across IT, Risk Management, and business operations without direct authority.

Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and project management skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Willingness to travel to regional office locations approximately three times per month.

Experience in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, or other high-volume operational environments.

Experience supporting cloud environments, disaster recovery planning, and third-party/vendor resilience programs.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Professional certifications such as CBCP, ABCP, CISSP, or other Business Continuity or Risk Management credentials.

Build an enterprise Business Continuity Program from the ground up.
