Job Description

A Department Manager responsible for supervising production personnel, including employee training, appraisals, and terminations. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify, analyze and improve processes and be accountable for accurate and timely completion of production orders.

Required:

  • 8 years plus working as a Department Manager in a manufacturing environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous Lead and or Management experience preferred in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledgeable with Lean and MDI methodology
  • Ability to interpret and present MDI and department metrics and goals
  • Must be comfortable working with teams on projects as well as presentations to groups
  • Must have good communication skills when working with all levels of management and groups within the company
Job Responsibilities:
  • Hiring and corrective actions for positions.
  • This individual will be a member of Production Leadership.
  • Promote a safe work environment.
  • Monitor employee practices and equipment for safety concerns.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of production team.
  • Monitor daily and weekly production schedules and goals.
  • Organize and assign work duties of employees.
  • Evaluate employee performance and complete timely appraisals.
  • Maintain accurate employee records.
  • Inspect quality of product at each workstation.
  • Practice good housekeeping in all areas.
  • Assure machines and equipment are always functioning properly.
  • Promote 5S and lean to fullest extent.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of the job, the team member is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk and reach with hands and arms. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work in an environment that is not climate-controlled and can include elevated hot and cold temperatures.

Pay: $70K - $80K DOE
2nd shift - 1:30pm - 10:30pm
