Senior NetSuite Financials Consultant - Contract
Location: 100% Remote
Engagement: Contract, 6+ months with likely extension
Hours: 30+ hours per week

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior NetSuite Financials Consultant to support client implementations, optimization initiatives, and ongoing ERP transformation projects.
This role is heavily focused on NetSuite Financials, with an emphasis on understanding client business requirements, designing scalable solutions, configuring financial functionality, and improving accounting and finance processes.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on NetSuite experience, a solid accounting foundation, and the ability to independently lead financial workstreams in a client-facing consulting environment. Experience working with a NetSuite implementation partner or consulting firm is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support NetSuite Financials implementations, enhancements, and optimization projects.
- Serve as a functional subject matter expert across core NetSuite financial modules and processes.
- Conduct client discovery sessions, requirements gathering, and solution-design workshops.
- Translate accounting and business requirements into scalable NetSuite configurations.
- Support the full implementation lifecycle, including design, configuration, testing, training, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes through automation, standardization, and system optimization.
- Develop functional requirements, solution designs, process documentation, and configuration documentation.
- Collaborate with technical consultants and developers to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Lead or support user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, test scripts, issue resolution, and client coordination.
- Support financial data migration, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
- Assist with NetSuite integrations involving third-party financial and business applications.
- Troubleshoot functional issues and recommend solutions based on NetSuite best practices.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and recommendations to client stakeholders and project leadership.
- Manage assigned financial workstreams and contribute across multiple client initiatives as needed.
NetSuite Financials Expertise
Hands-on experience with several of the following areas:
- General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Cash Management and Bank Reconciliation
- Fixed Assets
- Revenue Recognition and Advanced Revenue Management (ARM)
- Intercompany Accounting and Consolidations
- Multi-Book Accounting
- Month-End and Year-End Close
- Journal Entries and Allocations
- Financial Statements and Reporting
- Budgets, Forecasting, Dashboards, and KPIs
- Audit Controls and Financial Process Optimization
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite Financials and core accounting processes.
- Experience leading or supporting full-cycle NetSuite implementations and optimization initiatives.
- Solid understanding of NetSuite configuration, workflows, roles and permissions, saved searches, dashboards, and reporting.
- Proven experience working directly with clients in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Ability to independently lead requirements gathering, solution design, and functional workstreams.
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and the ability to translate business needs into practical system solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and contribute quickly to an established project team.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on NetSuite consulting experience.
- Experience with NetSuite OneWorld and multi-subsidiary, multi-currency, or multi-book environments.
- Prior experience with a NetSuite Solution Provider or implementation partner.
- NetSuite certifications.
- Experience with third-party integrations, data migration, and ERP transformation initiatives.
- Experience supporting post-go-live stabilization and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
We're looking for a hands-on Senior NetSuite Financials Consultant who can step into a client engagement and make an immediate impact. The right person will combine strong accounting knowledge with deep NetSuite functional expertise, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to lead financial workstreams with minimal oversight.
