Job Title: Software Support Engineer II (Contract)
Location: Remote (United States)
Onsite Requirements: Remote
Schedule: Mon - Fri/Central or Eastern Time Business Hours
Compensation Range: $40 - $50/hr. (W2 or 1099)

Contract duration: 6 months with likely extension

• Provide technical support for Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and a cloud-based data analytics platform.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root-cause analysis using log analysis, problem reproduction, and system instrumentation programming in Java, Spring Framework, MySQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Groovy, Python, Web Services and other tools.
• Track and document actions taken to resolve issues and follow up with internal stakeholders to confirm resolution.
• Develop and document best practices for request handling and implement reliable processes for repeatable delivery.
• Identify recurring issues and codify solutions into documented, scripted processes.
• Maintain documentation/knowledge to support faster future problem resolution.
• Complete required HIPAA/PHI privacy, compliance, and security training within the first 30 days and maintain ongoing training status.

• 5+ years of experience in a similar technical support / engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or similar discipline) or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on Java, Spring framework, MySQL (relational database), AWS, Kubernetes, Groovy Scripting, Python, and web services (REST APIs, XML, etc.).
• Strong analytical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks independently.
• Located within the US with the ability to work Central Time Hours.
• Ability to speak up and request help as needed and regularly.

• Master's degree.
• Lab / laboratory environment background.
