Job Description
A CAD Operator / Junior Mechanical Engineer responsible for taking piping red-line markups and turning them into accurate, production-ready black-line drawings. Opportunity to learn 3D piping design work.
Required:
- An associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Drafting & Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, familiarity with piping design tools is a plus.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Interpret red-line markups from engineers and field teams to update piping drawings with precision.
- Use CAD software (AutoCAD) to revise and maintain 2D and 3D piping layouts.
- Ensure all updates meet industry standards, project specifications, and internal quality guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field staff to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized drawing files and revision histories for easy reference and compliance audits.
- Support the mechanical engineering team with basic design tasks, measurements, and documentation.
