DevOps Engineer | Insurance Technology | Remote (EST-aligned)
Contract-to-HirePay: $70-$80/hr W2 (contract)
$135K-$165K base
+12-15% target bonus (upon conversion)

- Are you a hands-on DevOps or Cloud Engineer who wants your work to directly power a national insurance platform? We're hiring a DevOps Engineer to build, automate, and maintain the cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines behind critical homeowners insurance applications -- everything from quoting and binding to policy servicing, billing, and claims.
- This is a high-visibility role on a growing technology team, partnering closely with Software Engineering, Data, and Security to keep production systems scalable, secure, and highly available.
- What You'll Do

Build, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure supporting core insurance technology platforms

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and releases
-
Manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
-
Own Docker and Kubernetes environments in production
-
Partner with Software Engineering to improve deployment velocity, scalability, and reliability
-
Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across the stack
-
Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and remediation for production issues
-
Automate repetitive operational workflows to reduce manual toil
-
Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity initiatives
-
Partner with Security on access controls, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation
-
Maintain clear technical documentation for infrastructure and operational procedures

Evaluate and introduce new DevOps tools and practices to improve engineering productivity
- What You Bring
-
5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
-
Strong hands-on experience with AWS or Azure
-
Proven track record building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar)

Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
-
Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience
-
Solid scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
-
Experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, Grafana, or similar)
-
Working knowledge of cloud networking, DNS, load balancing, certificates, and APIs
-
Understanding of IAM, secrets management, and secure development practices
-
Strong cross-functional troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, apps, and integrations
-
Comfort operating in a production environment with real reliability and on-call ownership

Experience in regulated, highly available, or financial-services environments

Property & Casualty, homeowners insurance, MGA, or InsurTech background
-
Experience supporting quoting, policy administration, billing, or claims systems

Advanced AWS-native or Azure cloud services experience

DevSecOps tooling exposure

Experience designing or supporting disaster recovery / business continuity solutions

Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
