Introduction
Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Epicor System Administrator to take ownership of the technical health, security, performance, reliability, and maintainability of its Epicor ERP environment.
This is a hands-on, senior individual-contributor role within a small IT team, reporting to the VP of Information Systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong Epicor administration and development experience and enjoy working closely with Manufacturing, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and other functional teams.
The organization has been running Epicor for 15+ years and currently operates Epicor ERP 10 in an on-premises environment. This is an opportunity to become a key technical resource for a critical enterprise system while helping shape its long-term architecture, supportability, security, and performance.
U.S. Citizenship is required due to ITAR regulations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Epicor environments, including application servers, task agents, application pools, schedulers, background processes, and related services.
  • Manage Epicor user security, including user access, security groups, menu permissions, field-level security, plant/site permissions, functional roles, and segregation-of-duties controls.
  • Plan, test, document, and execute Epicor upgrades, patches, hotfixes, environment refreshes, and deployments across development, test, and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain Epicor solutions including BAQs, BPMs, Method Directives, Data Directives, Dashboards, SSRS Reports, integrations, and approved customizations.
  • Support SQL Server performance and reliability through query analysis, troubleshooting, performance tuning, data investigation, and coordination of backup/recovery activities.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, logs, scheduled processes, interfaces, and integrations while diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Automate repetitive administrative and support tasks using PowerShell, SQL, Epicor tools, APIs, and other approved technologies.
  • Provide advanced technical support and root-cause analysis for Epicor-related issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering environments, configurations, security, integrations, customizations, recovery procedures, and support processes.
  • Partner with functional teams to translate approved business requirements into secure, scalable, and supportable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and support partners when necessary to resolve complex issues and implement system enhancements.
  • Advocate for standard Epicor functionality and sustainable solutions while minimizing unnecessary customization and long-term technical debt.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Epicor ERP/Kinetic experience, including system administration in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Epicor environment administration, security, performance troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and change control.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on Epicor development experience with BPMs, Method/Data Directives, BAQs, Dashboards, and SSRS Reports.
  • Strong SQL skills for complex data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance investigation.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server administration and backup/recovery concepts.
  • Experience with C# and the Epicor data model for server-side business logic and approved custom solutions.
  • Strong Epicor customization and technical troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to evaluate business requirements and translate them into secure, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Nice-to-have skills that would make a candidate more competitive but are not required.
  • Experience supporting Epicor within an integrated manufacturing environment.
  • Functional knowledge of Sales, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, MRP, BOM/MOM, Scheduling, Logistics, and Quality modules.
  • Experience with PowerShell, REST APIs, integrations, and automation.
  • Experience supporting secure, regulated, or audit-ready IT environments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex ERP and business-process issues.
  • Experience coordinating technical projects, system deployments, or ERP-related initiatives.
  • Epicor certifications or other relevant technical certifications.
