Location: Phoenix, AZ (Greater Phoenix Area)
Compensation: $80,000 - $97,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonus
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Start Date: Immediate Opening

About the Opportunity

A growing construction and engineering organization is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial construction and building systems projects throughout the Phoenix area. This role offers an excellent opportunity for either an early-career professional or a recent graduate looking to build a long-term career in project management and construction operations.

Working closely with Project Managers and field teams, the Project Engineer will play a key role in project planning, coordination, documentation, scheduling, and execution. This position provides hands-on exposure to all phases of the project lifecycle and offers a clear path for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction and retrofit projects.
  • Develop, update, and maintain project schedules to support successful project delivery.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation including submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and change orders.
  • Coordinate with designers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Support quality control processes by assisting with the creation, review, and maintenance of project documentation.
  • Track project progress and help identify potential schedule, cost, or performance concerns.
  • Review design and construction documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist with procurement activities, including equipment, material, and service purchases.
  • Support Project Managers with budgeting, reporting, project administration, and client communication.
  • Monitor subcontractor and vendor performance and provide project updates to leadership.
  • Help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant internship or project experience is a plus.
  • Experience in commercial construction, mechanical systems, HVAC, building automation, or related industries is preferred.
  • Understanding of construction documentation, project scheduling, scopes of work, and project coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to project sites as needed.
