Schedule: Fulltime
Pay: $41-$43/hr
Role Overview:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to be responsible for managing the process of purchasing products and services for our business. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, maintaining supplier records, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and will acting as a key liaison between varying cross-functional internal and external groups. liaising with inventory teams and management. The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.
The Senior Buyer is responsible for driving all aspects of the procurement process, including and not limited to cost reduction, process improvement, effective communication to stakeholders, and contract compliance.
The Senior Buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles is advantageous.
The senior buyer will be responsible for maintaining and reporting on diverse vendor spend.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best value for Amwell
- Analyze all relevant data in support of procurement decisions and present analysis to key stakeholders.
- Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
- Negotiating prices with vendors to obtain the best price for products or services.
- Researching market trends to determine the best time to purchase certain items.
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure all purchases meet the company's needs.
- Determining which vendors are most qualified to meet the company's needs for products or services.
- Assist with developing a purchasing plan based on the company's strategic goals.
- Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
- Collaborates with internal customers and other departments to ensure that goods/services purchased meet Amwell's expectations.
- Assess quality of goods received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to secure budget approval for purchases.
- Negotiate commercial terms and manage contracting process via Iron Clad.
- Relevant experience preferred purchasing, supply chain, or related experience required
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficient in appropriate software- Coupa and NetSuite (REQUIRED)
- MUST HAVE NetSuite Purchase Order (PO) & Supply Chain experience.
- Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with IronClad is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field.
