Onsite Requirements: Fully Onsite
Compensation Range: $45-$50/hr. (1099)
Benefits: Base compensation depends on candidate experience.

We are seeking an MES Engineer to support the design, configuration, and ongoing management of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions within a regulated Drug Product manufacturing environment. This role focuses on electronic batch records (eBR), recipe/workflow development, integrations, and day-to-day production support while maintaining GxP compliance.
- Support design and configuration of MES solutions (including eBR) under guidance of senior engineers
- Develop modular, scalable, reusable MES recipe and equipment workflow templates aligned to ISA-88/ISA-95 standards
- Gather user requirements and help define functional specifications for MES enhancements
- Perform impact assessments for recipe changes and system updates in a GxP environment
- Troubleshoot MES issues and perform root cause analysis across configuration, recipe design, and integrations
- Support integration of MES with enterprise and automation systems (e.g., ERP, LIMS) using protocols such as OPC and REST APIs
- Assist with dashboards, reporting, and data visualization to support manufacturing operations
- Provide day-to-day support for MES users and resolve production-impacting issues
- Participate in technical transfer activities to onboard new products/processes into manufacturing
- Support off-hours manufacturing operations as needed for critical MES issues
- Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and maintain compliance with GxP and Data Integrity expectations
- Participate in validation activities to support implementation and ongoing maintenance of MES systems
- 2 to 4 years of experience working with MES in regulated manufacturing environments (pharma/biotech preferred)
- Working knowledge of electronic batch records (eBR) and MES recipe/workflow concepts
- Basic understanding of GxP, GAMP, and Computer System Validation (CSV) principles
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and systems integration concepts
- Exposure to integration approaches and interfaces (OPC, REST APIs, or similar)
- Familiarity with basic programming concepts and/or languages such as SQL, Python, or C#
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Ideally a local candidate with the ability to be onsite near Boston.
- Must be USC, GC and H4 EAD - no H1Bs unfortunately.
- Experience with Tempo MES (or similar platforms such as Syncade or equivalent)
- Prior support of manufacturing operations where responsiveness and reliability are critical
- Experience contributing to data dashboards, label management systems, or reporting tools in a manufacturing setting
