Senior Designer
Location: Beaverton, OR
Contract length: ~4 months
Schedule: Hybrid in Beaverton, OR (WFH Fridays)
Pay: $58-63.34/hr, DOE
The Planet Group is looking for a Senior Designer to join our well-known retail brand on a roughly 4-month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be hybrid in Beaverton, OR, working remotely on Fridays. This person will collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete multiple projects by using design processes and practices to ensure the creative intent, design results, timelines and budgets are met.
Senior Designer Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8+ years of brand design experience demonstrating creative sophistication in concepts and design/visual communications
- Bachelors/master's degree in graphic design, architecture, interior design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Retail industry experience, retail environments, concepts, and programs. International experience beneficial
- Strong oral and written communications skills including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Strong ability to effectively communicate complex and/or sensitive topics and concepts to senior creative team
- Ability to sketch design ideas and visually communicate concept development through ideation
- Passion for current trends in Technology, Design, Art, Interactive and Experience Design
- Can-do attitude with proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality
- Strategic, collaborative, and creative team leader
- Track record of innovative use of emerging technology to build impactful spaces, consumer engagement and interaction
- Ability to work across several design subject areas such as Environmental Graphic Design, Materials and Digital with ease
- Forward-thinking leader, a detail oriented graphic and environments design minded creative, that builds creative direction for design development and generates implementation standards for consistent execution throughout projects

- 2D, Art Direction, Storyboarding, Graphic Design, Environmental, Furniture Design, Interactive, Print, Retail.
- Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote, SketchUp
- After Effects, Premiere, Miro, Figma, Unreal Engine are a plus
- Develop impactful / scalable design solutions for immersive retail environments and experiences
- Ideate creative concepts, illustrate your ideas and be hands on as you lead projects to completion
- Develop and realize innovative, original retail environments, displays and digital solutions for retail stores
- Collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete multiple projects by using design processes and practices to ensure the creative intent, design results, timelines and budgets are met
- Create, refine, and evolve non-seasonal retail storytelling across the full stores portfolio
- Collaborate with a team to develop the right approach for each project, factoring in the needs of the Consumer, the Brand, and our Business partners
- Communicate and present design concepts and create presentation materials that optimally communicate design intent, as well as produce project production files when required
