Job Description

Our client is a mechanical contracting company in the metropolitan Detroit area who specializes in Water and Wastewater Treatment Projects, and is looking to hire a Project Manager. The company has been serving the needs of Southeast Michigan municipalities for over 60 years, maintaining, updating, and providing new process piping and equipment. 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Review vendor data and shop drawings for conformance to project plans and specifications
  • Maintain Logs (Shop Drawings, Procurement, RFIs, RFQs, Change Orders)
  • Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets
  • Supervise/Manage Employees, Subcontractors & Vendors
  • Coordination of the work
  • Maintain relationships with Owners, Contractors, Subcontractors, and Vendors
  • Timely recognition of project issues
  • Review drawings and specifications with the project team and highlight any areas of concern 
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a project manager within water/wastewater industry
  • Self-disciplined / motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills and solid organization and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to follow through and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple project tasks and respond to client requests
  • Knowledge of construction and scheduling techniques
