Job Description
Title: Strategic Senior Buyer
Location: Remote
Type: Contract Role
Pay Range: $50-60/hour + OT
We're hiring a Strategic Senior Buyer for our Procurement Operations team that will be a member of our Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) organization. As a Senior Buyer you will work to support North America locations, for INDIRECT materials for the procure to pay process.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct searches for new suppliers of goods and services, evaluate their capabilities, assess risk and qualify.
- Evaluate user requirements and prepare and execute Requests for Proposals.
- Negotiate purchase agreements and ensure compliance with said terms.
- Manage the transition from incumbent to new suppliers.
- Manage supplier quality and conduct audits; Resolve supplier complaints for positive resolution for Grace.
- Work cross-functionally within the ISC organization & other support functions such as R&D, EHS, Quality, Product Stewardship and Marketing.
- Identify, execute and track productivity including cost reduction and cash flow improvement and support the development of the Annual Operating Plan.
- Interact with plants, business and corporate management and prepare and present internal reports and project bid outcomes.
- Support working capital goals by reducing where possible, direct material inventory and increasing the ADP by negotiating longer payment terms with suppliers.
- Support key stakeholders in the entire source to pay process, including our systems (SAP and Ariba) & provide training and troubleshooting assistance.
Required Skills:
- Experience with sourcing, contracting and purchasing of Indirect categories specifically corporate services (travel, temp labor, subscriptions etc)
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines where different time zones are at play.
- Strong analytical skills including using data to develop fact-based decisions and recommendations.
- Working knowledge of how logistics department functions including the use of Incoterms.
- Working knowledge of Contract management. Specifically, commercial terms working with the legal department to "redline" contracts within the negotiation process.
Required Experience:
- BS degree, preferably in supply chain management or engineering.
- Working knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
- Proficient with SAP-ARIBA and SAP PO creation (P2P); release and updating pricing info records; conducting RFP's; catalogs; collaboration; sourcing and vendor negotiations.
- 7 years' working experience within procurement at a global industrial or manufacturing environment
- Proficient in MS office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluent in French or French Canadian
- Supply chain certification (CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM).
- MBA
