Desktop Support & Field Team IT Support Specialist

Location: Boston, MA -- Onsite 5 days/week
Employment: Permanent, Hourly
Compensation: $35-$40+/hour + OT
Bonus: 10% + Equity

Our client is a growing pharmaceutical company preparing for a commercial launch and is seeking a Desktop Support & Field Team IT Support Specialist to join its small, collaborative IT team.

This role will provide hands-on IT support to employees in the Waltham office, remote employees, and the Commercial field team. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills who enjoys working in a small environment where team members wear multiple hats.

• Provide desktop and Help Desk support for Windows and MacOS environments.

• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and connectivity issues.

• Deploy, configure, and maintain computers and other IT equipment.

• Support onboarding and employee technology training.

• Provide hands-on support for conference rooms, A/V, and collaboration tools.

• Serve as a primary IT contact for the Commercial field team, including support for iPads and business applications.

• Manage service desk tickets and document resolutions.

• Maintain IT equipment inventory and follow established security and IT processes.

• Work independently while collaborating with the broader IT team.

• 3-6 years of IT/Help Desk/Desktop Support experience.

• Strong customer service, communication, and professional presence.

• Strong Windows experience; MacOS/Apple experience highly preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and wear multiple hats in a small IT environment.

• Must be able to work onsite in Waltham 5 days/week.

• Ability to safely lift/move equipment up to approximately 30 lbs.

• Pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences experience.

• Experience supporting a Commercial/Sales team.

• Veeva and/or Salesforce experience.

• Field IT support experience.

• Azure and Active Directory familiarity.

• A+ certification or relevant technical training.

Ideal Profile: A dependable, customer-focused IT professional with 3-6 years of experience, strong communication skills, and a history of stability. Candidates from smaller companies who are accustomed to wearing multiple hats are especially well suited for this environment.
