Introduction

Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join their growing Infrastructure team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about automation, cloud technologies, and CI/CD best practices who enjoys improving software delivery, operational efficiency, and platform reliability. You'll collaborate with development, architecture, and operations teams to build and maintain enterprise-scale DevSecOps solutions in a highly collaborative environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise build and release infrastructure along with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Apply DevOps and DevSecOps best practices to improve software delivery, security, and operational reliability.
  • Partner with Architects and Infrastructure teams to design deployment pipelines leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS, serverless, and other cloud technologies.
  • Build and automate software deployments, testing, monitoring, security scanning, and operational workflows.
  • Troubleshoot DevSecOps platform issues and collaborate across multiple application and infrastructure teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Recommend architectural and process improvements that increase scalability, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Review and continuously optimize existing deployment and release processes.
  • Support Release Management activities across multiple environments.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production systems.
  • Promote DevOps culture and automation throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered.

  • Hands-on administration experience with the JFrog Suite, including Artifactory and Xray.
  • Previous experience as a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).
  • Strong experience building and managing enterprise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with software build and deployment technologies including Maven, NPM, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, QuickBuild, JBoss, and IIS.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or similar platforms.
  • Strong scripting skills with PowerShell, Bash, and Groovy; familiarity with Batch, C#, or Java is a plus.
  • Experience integrating applications through APIs and troubleshooting integration issues.
  • Strong knowledge of source control platforms including Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and TFVC.
  • Experience with software development tools such as Visual Studio or Eclipse.
  • Experience working with relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2.
  • Working knowledge of Windows IIS, Red Hat Linux, and JBoss environments.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Nice-to-have skills that would make a candidate more competitive but are not required.

  • Experience serving in multiple technical roles such as Developer, Tester, Architect, Security Analyst, or Infrastructure Administrator.
  • Experience with configuration management tools including Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Nagios, or Prometheus.
  • Familiarity with binary repository managers such as Sonatype Nexus.
  • Experience implementing automated unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or NUnit.
  • Knowledge of secure software development and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Experience supporting enterprise cloud environments using Azure or AWS.
