Must Haves:
- Relevant Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of FP&A experience, including forecasting, budgeting and modeling
- Advanced Excel
- Prior support of/ business partner to sales/marketing (any industry) OR prior support of/business partner to R&D/Engineering or Product Management in the manufacturing industry
- Revenue forecasting, financial modeling, and business partnering
- Understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow and how they work together)
- Ability to engage and work with C Level management
- Be highly proactive
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Experience with commission planning( quotas) and management
- Experience with Infor/Syteline, and/or Datarails
- MBA
- Experience in a PE backed company and/or high growth environment
- Basic understanding of accounting ( accruals, debits/credits)
- Power BI, Tableau, SQL, ERP, CRM, and planning systems experience
Job Description:
We are seeking a Finance Manager/ Business Partner - Commercial & Engineering to serve as the primary financial advisor to our Commercial, Product Management, and Engineering organizations within a fast-growing, private equity-backed manufacturing company.
This is a highly visible role responsible for partnering with business leaders to drive profitable growth, improve commercial performance, support product investment decisions, and develop scalable planning processes. Success in this role requires more than strong financial analysis--it requires intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and the ability to influence decisions across the organization.
The ideal candidate thrives in an environment where they can build new capabilities, challenge assumptions, and translate financial analysis into actionable business recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Finance Partner
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Commercial leadership to drive profitable growth.
- Lead Bookings and Revenue forecasting, including pipeline conversion, shipment timing, and revenue recognition.
- Improve forecast accuracy through close collaboration with Commercial leadership.
- Analyze customer profitability, pricing, product mix, and commercial performance.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards that improve visibility into commercial performance.
- Identify risks and opportunities and recommend actions to improve revenue and margin.
Engineering & Product Finance Partner
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership on strategic investment decisions.
- Develop financial business cases supporting new product development, product enhancements, and engineering initiatives.
- Evaluate product portfolio performance and profitability.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Assist in prioritizing engineering investments based on strategic and financial return.
Strategic Planning & Performance Management
- Own budgeting and forecasting for Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Product Management.
- Present monthly financial results, key performance indicators, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership.
- Develop long-range financial models supporting strategic planning.
- Partner with leadership to improve decision-making through data-driven insights.
Build Scalable Finance Capabilities
- Build and continuously improve financial models, dashboards, and planning processes.
- Develop standardized reporting and KPI frameworks.
- Help establish a best-in-class Finance Business Partner organization.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial planning and commercial analytics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Business.
- 10+ years of experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, Strategic Finance, Finance Business Partner, or Corporate Finance.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, or Commercial leadership.
- Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear business recommendations.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or CPA preferred.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, technology, or product-based companies.
- Experience supporting Product Management or Engineering organizations.
- Experience within a high-growth and/or private equity-backed company.
- Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, ERP, CRM, and planning systems experience.

- Established consistent product profitability reporting.
- Influenced major commercial and engineering investment decisions.
