Construction Project Lead
Location: Marlborough, MA
Contract length: 3 months
Schedule: 40 hrs/week
Schedule: Hybrid
Pay: $35/hr - $40/hr (DOE)
Construction Project Lead directly oversees miscellaneous construction and signage projects within different chains. Aids in project schedules and assigning General Contractors and/or Sign Vendors. Distributes all required project documents to external and internal contacts. Negotiates pricing, reviews and approves proposals and invoices, tracks progress and ensures close-outs for all miscellaneous construction and signage initiatives assigned. Supplies updates detailing the status of all miscellaneous construction and signage initiatives on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Create Construction contract preparation memos and DocuSigns for all assigned projects.
- Ensure Sign Vendors adhere to contract pricing and specifications for all assigned projects.
- Track and adhere to budgets, review, and approve proposals and invoices for all assigned construction and signage projects.
- Award miscellaneous construction projects to General Contractors and/or Sign Vendors.
- Sends kick-off emails for all assigned projects, conducts remote kick-off meetings for applicable project types.
- Track progress of all assigned projects.
- Responsible for adjusting Contractor schedule strategies to ensure timely completion of projects and cost-effective execution methods.
- Perform related administrative tasks on a regular basis.
- 3 plus years in Construction, Facilities, Store Planning, Fixturing, Architectural Design, or related construction trades is preferred.
- Strong organization and project planning skills are necessary.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) are a must.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects at any one time.
- Highly self-motivated, works well in a team environment.
- Understanding and ability to read blueprints, specifically Floor Plans, Elevations, and Site Plans.
- Strong knowledge of store layouts, HVAC, electrical and plumbing criteria would be desired.
- Experience working on complex projects is good to have.
- Retail experience is preferred.
- General fixturing, and retail store planning knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to decipher landlord and city codes as it relates to exterior signs.
- Adept in Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Word. Lucernex and Service Channel experience a plus.
- Ability to multitask & handle changing priorities quickly on a large amount of stores - more than 100 projects happening per week
- Handle administrative tasks and technology (IE approving invoices in Service Channel, reviewing photos, providing basic reports)
- Comfort with handling phone calls and emails from store teams and GC's to provide guidance and/or clarify questions
- There is a strong preference for experience handling multiple projects and/or large scale rollouts, and comfortability with managing questions, concerns and problems via phone and email (example: field teams and contractors requesting guidance and/or reassurance).
