Pay: $25-35/hour
Work Schedule: 1st Shift (M-F)

Job Summary
In a safe, efficient, and professional manner, the Dock Technician completes the required PMs and repairs on commercial and industrial facility equipment. The technician is an excellent communicator and has exceptional follow-through capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Abide by all safety guidelines including OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and other applicable safety requirements.
- Conduct shift rounds (regular checks of systems and equipment to identify issues and document systems and equipment performance).
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on equipment, at times working with guidance from more experienced technicians.
Inspection and evaluation may include:
- Measurement of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, or vibration.
- Inspection of equipment for wear.
- Replacement of expendable items including belts, hoses, fluids, filters, and other routine consumables.
- Service and maintain docks, including:
- Dock levelers
- Dock seals
- Dock bumpers
- Service and maintain commercial doors, including:
- Automatic doors
- Hollow metal doors
- Overhead doors
- Service and maintain commercial locks and door hardware.
Other preventive maintenance may include:
- Filter changes
- Condenser cleaning
- Oil changes
- Machinery lubrication and greasing
Repairs may include:
- Routine cleaning
- Patching
- Painting buildings
- Basic equipment repairs
- Small plumbing repairs
- Simple electrical repairs
- Addressing customer concerns such as lighting issues
- Complete detailed training on life-critical work practices related to modified confined space procedures, hazardous energy control, and required documentation processes utilizing paper and digital communications.
- Document work results in the CMMS, analyze findings, and recommend updates to the PM list.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and customer staff to ensure all aspects of work requests are understood.
- Keep customers informed regarding work status and expected completion dates.
- May provide guidance to subcontractors performing facility services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager.
Qualifications Education
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Preference given to candidates with undergraduate business or trade school training.
- At least one year's experience servicing and maintaining:
- Commercial dock levelers
- Commercial doors
- Automatic doors
- Dock locks
- Overhead door hardware
- Experience maintaining dock maintenance program records is required.
- Experience must include maintenance of pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
- Previous experience working with the following manufacturers is preferred:
- Rite Hite
- Power Ramp
- Nabco
- Stanley Access Technology
- Record USA
- Tormax
- Besam
- Allegion Door Hardware
- Assa Abloy
- Experience working in roles requiring physical labor, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry concepts, is preferred.
- AAADM certification is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or graphic form.
- Ability to interpret and fully understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to execute repetitive tasks as trained without deviation.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to send and receive emails and manage an email inbox.
- Ability to operate the work order system.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
