Our client, a leader in the Marketing Technology industry, is seeking a Director, Finance Technology Product Leader to build and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for their Finance Technology ecosystem. This high-impact role will partner closely with Finance executives, Engineering teams, and business leaders to modernize critical financial platforms through automation, AI, and scalable enterprise architecture.
This is an opportunity for a strategic yet hands-on technology leader who has successfully led Finance system transformations, owned enterprise application ecosystems, and driven modernization initiatives within high-growth SaaS environments. The ideal candidate will have deep NetSuite expertise and experience leading complex Finance technology landscapes spanning ERP, revenue, billing, procurement, financial operations, and enterprise integrations.
Daily Responsibilities
- Defining the product strategy and multi-year roadmap for the Finance Technology ecosystem while aligning technology investments with business objectives
- Partnering with Finance leadership, including CFO organization, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Procurement teams, to translate business priorities into scalable technology solutions
- Leading modernization initiatives across Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Quote-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Revenue, Billing, and Financial Close processes
- Driving AI and automation initiatives that improve Finance operations, increase productivity, and enhance reporting accuracy
- Collaborating with Engineering, Business Systems, Architecture, and Integration teams to deliver strategic platform enhancements
- Owning the governance, health, and evolution of the Finance application ecosystem while ensuring scalable integrations and reliable financial data
- Evaluating enterprise systems and leading ERP modernization, optimization, or migration initiatives when appropriate
- Serving as a senior technology partner to Finance executives by translating complex technical decisions into measurable business outcomes
- Ensuring Finance systems support SOX compliance, audit readiness, and strong internal controls
- Establishing success metrics, roadmap priorities, and delivery timelines while balancing strategic initiatives with operational requirements
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience leading Enterprise Applications, Business Systems, or Finance Technology initiatives with significant ownership of Finance platforms
- Experience owning Finance Technology strategy within a SaaS or high-growth technology organization
- Deep hands-on expertise with NetSuite at an administrator, architect, or platform owner level, not simply as a downstream application user
- Strong understanding of enterprise Finance systems including ERP, Order-to-Cash, Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, Revenue Recognition, Billing, and Financial Close
- Experience managing enterprise application ecosystems including Salesforce, NetSuite, revenue and billing platforms, expense management, procurement solutions, and related Finance technologies
- Proven success leading enterprise Finance system transformations, ERP implementations, migrations, or modernization programs with direct ownership of execution
- Experience implementing AI or automation solutions within Finance workflows including reconciliations, invoice processing, forecasting, financial close, or reporting
- Strong understanding of SOX controls, ITGCs, audit requirements, and Finance technology governance
- Demonstrated ability to partner with Executive Leadership, Finance organizations, Engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience defining product roadmaps and leading execution across complex enterprise environments
- Must be based in the Boston area or willing to relocate
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as Zuora, Coupa, Avalara, Zip, Concur, Oracle, or similar Finance applications
- Experience supporting enterprise sales operations and systems required for large-scale B2B growth
- Background leading Finance Technology initiatives within a publicly traded company
- Experience building or scaling Finance Technology organizations during periods of rapid growth
- Familiarity with modern integration architecture and enterprise data flows across Finance systems
- Experience partnering with AI platforms or Data Engineering teams to implement enterprise AI solutions
- Previous experience creating Finance Technology strategy in a newly established or greenfield leadership role
- Experience owning Salesforce, NetSuite, Billing, and broader Finance application ecosystems
