Senior Civil Engineer (NAVFAC Support)
Job Overview
- Pay Rate: $60 - $75 per hour + Per Diem
- Location: Norfolk, VA (hybrid)
- Role Type: Advisory & Assistance Support Services Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Guide planning, design, construction, and maintenance for MILCON, special projects, and base infrastructure.
- Design Reviews: Evaluate architectural/engineering submittals and internal NAVFAC designs for code and standard compliance.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with architects, electrical/mechanical teams, and external contractors in stakeholder meetings.
- Field Support: Conduct site visits, perform special inspections, assist with quality assurance, and troubleshoot during commissioning.
- Project Tracking: Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring alignment with DoD, Navy, and UFC criteria.
- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional civil engineering practice in facility design and construction administration.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-approved program.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with DoD/Navy criteria, UFC guidelines, International Building Code (IBC), and local/federal laws.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk, Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG), Specs-In-Tact, and MS Office.
