Communications Coordinator
Location: Beaverton, OR
Contract length: ~5 months
Schedule: Hybrid in Beaverton, OR (WFH Fridays); occasional travel required
Pay: $35-40.14/hr, DOE
The Planet Group is looking for a Communications Coordinator to join our well-known retail brand on a roughly 5-month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be hybrid in Beaverton, OR, working remotely on Fridays.
Communications Coordinator Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum of 2-4 years directly relevant work experience
- Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 1 yr; Masters + 0-3 yrs; Associates degree + 1-3 yrs; High School + 3-5 yrs.
- Minimum of 2-4 years directly relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of Running and passion for Running is preferred
- Communications background in the sports industry, ideally in the running space
- Open to being flexible with scheduling and attending events
- Previous experience at a PR Agency or an Event Agency
- Microsoft Office expertise
Communications Coordinator Description:
- Understand and Convey company and product information to internal and external stakeholders through appropriate and effective channels
- Foster and cultivate relationships with key media, and keep up to date on client happenings
- Not to be quoted as a spokesperson on the record unless authorized and trained by a manager
- Organize and manage assigned projects and events
- Participate in communications team idea generation
- Follow up with employees and partners, answer questions and supply PR information
- Work with managers to provide assistance to media on-site at special events, photo shoots, interviews and press conferences
- Research, write and edit press releases, fact sheets, video packages and speaking points
- Create and write PR plans; work with PR agencies and freelancers
- Research media groups
- Work with the Communications manager / director to administer the allocated budget, including invoicing, producing reports, working with finance and updating the team on a regular basis
- Focus on Running Communications supporting the Running Business and Brand
- Occasional travel required
