Job Description:
The Planet Group is seeking a Manager, Space Data and Analytics to support the client by managing and analyzing space-related data. This is a hands-on, analytics-focused role (not a traditional people management role) responsible for ensuring accurate space data, identifying discrepancies, and driving data-driven space planning decisions.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented analyst with strong space management experience, capable of working with large datasets, improving data quality, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage space data analytics, reporting, and validation for SoM across multiple buildings and departments
- Analyze and validate space data to ensure accurate classification, coding, and utilization tracking
- Identify discrepancies in space data and investigate root causes, recommending corrective actions
- Develop and maintain data validation scripts, reports, and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Standardize and maintain space data coding frameworks across systems and departments
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all space data, occupancy, and reporting inquiries
- Collaborate with internal teams (planning, finance, tech services) to improve data processes and system integration
- Lead and support annual space data certification processes, ensuring compliance with organizational requirements
- Provide insights and recommendations for strategic space planning and optimization
- Work extensively with space systems (e.g., Archibus, iSpace) and large datasets to improve data integrity
- Support ad-hoc reporting, analytics requests, and data-driven decision-making initiatives
- Partner with stakeholders to align space allocation and occupancy needs
- Ensure continuous improvement in data processes, automation, and reporting efficiency
- 5+ years of experience in space management, space analytics, or related field
- Strong experience working with space data systems (e.g., Archibus, iSpace or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, large datasets, data validation)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and process gaps
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to audit complex datasets
- Proven ability to investigate data issues and implement corrective solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience in higher education or healthcare environments
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, PL/SQL, Oracle Database, VBA, Tableau, or BI tools
- Understanding of database structures, system integrations, and data mapping
- Experience building dashboards, KPIs, and automated reporting solutions
