Risk Management Specialist
Contract, at least 3 months with potential for extension
Onsite, 5 days - Norwell, MA

Hourly rate: $30.00-35.00/hr

Must have:
2 years college and/or specialized training with Claims
2+ years experience in a Risk Management or Claims Adjuster role(preference would be focused on Workers Compensation, however open to others)
Clear and grammatically correct verbal and written communication skills

Position Summary:
The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for managing all Workers Compensation Liability claims-related activities within the Risk Management Department. This role includes conducting thorough investigations, evaluating and negotiating claims, and ensuring accurate reserving and payment. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills, along with a solid understanding of liability laws and claims processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive investigations, evaluations, and negotiations of workers compensation liability claims to ensure appropriate reserving and payment.

  • Maintain an organized diary system and accurate documentation of claim file activities.

  • Perform administrative tasks including filing, check requests, and payment or expense tracking.

  • Initiate and manage contact with claimants, insurance carriers, and other relevant parties to gather information and facilitate claim resolution.

  • Promptly investigate and manage claims arising from workers compensation liability incidents.

  • Apply knowledge of U.S. liability laws and the litigation process to effectively handle claims.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Review and establish claim reserves based on claim severity and jurisdiction.
