Lead Merchant
Location: Beaverton, OR
Contract length: ~10 months
Schedule: Hybrid in Beaverton, OR (WFH Fridays)
Pay: $33-38/hr, DOE
The Planet Group is looking for a Lead Merchant to join our well-known retail brand on a roughly 10-month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be hybrid in Beaverton, OR, working remotely on Fridays.
Lead Merchant Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or a combination of relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in Retail, Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying, or relevant experience
- Self-driven individual with a passion for consumer and sneakers geared towards making a positive impact on the overall Sportswear business
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and exude strong communication and influencing skills rooted in a high-level of retail and merchandising acumen
- Comfortable working autonomously while being solution oriented and presenting within leadership settings
- Demonstrated understanding of the Sportswear Footwear consumer and marketplace
- Ability to analyze business and consumer trends
- Comfort with research and analysis, along with a genuine curiosity and commitment to learn and evolve
- Entrepreneurial spirit, experience working on new projects/concepts/ideas
- Ability to collaboratively manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
- Effective communicator that collaborates and brings people together
- Values differences and builds strong relationships with high cultural awareness
- Proven balance of art and science in decision-making
- Self-directed, independent, and dedicated
- Cultivates innovation while also ensuring accountability

Lead Merchant Description:
- Focus on the growth and management of brands and assortments
- Detailed management, maintenance and communication of all seasonal tools and assortments
- Develop key relationships among cross-functional teammates
- Franchise management against biggest footwear styles in the company
- Represent top footwear franchises across many levels of the organization
