Infor LX Applications & Development Manager
Remote (U.S.) | Manufacturing Industry | Limited Travel
We're partnering with an established manufacturing organization seeking an experienced IT Applications & Development Manager to lead a critical enterprise applications team supporting a complex Infor LX environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technology leader who enjoys balancing people leadership, ERP strategy, and technical oversight. You'll lead a team responsible for application development, support, and optimization while helping align technology initiatives with broader business goals across manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Infor LX expertise, prior leadership experience, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and ERP systems.
What You'll Be Doing- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of developers, technical resources, consultants, and external partners
- Oversee application development, enhancements, support, and ongoing optimization efforts for Infor LX and IBM i (IBMi) environments
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to align technology initiatives with operational priorities
- Manage application performance, uptime, security, backup, and recovery processes
- Own and support custom development, integrations, interfaces, and the broader ERP technical ecosystem
- Establish and maintain development standards, application governance, and EDI-related processes
- Manage vendor relationships, software/hardware partnerships, and service agreements
- Define and monitor service expectations and performance across the applications team
- Drive scalable, business-focused solutions that improve efficiency and operational performance
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Infor LX in a technical or leadership capacity
- Previous experience leading or mentoring developers, vendors, and technical teams
- Strong experience overseeing application development, support, and enhancements within ERP environments
- Experience supporting IBMi / AS400 environments
- Background within manufacturing environments, including familiarity with concepts such as:
- Work orders
- Bills of materials (BOMs)
- Production/work centers
- Manufacturing operations workflows
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge technical and business priorities
Candidates with extensive experience in similar legacy ERP or manufacturing-focused systems may also be considered, particularly those with backgrounds in:
- Comparable ERP / MRP platforms
- Manufacturing system modernization
- ERP integrations and reporting environments
- Primarily remote position
- Initial onboarding period will include time spent onsite to gain exposure to operations, manufacturing processes, and key stakeholder relationships
- Limited travel expected throughout the year for leadership meetings and major business initiatives
- Highly visible leadership role with meaningful ownership and influence
