Job Description:
Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to step into the business immediately and provide strong accounting leadership during a critical period. This individual will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and support budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing environment, understand the pace and complexity of an operational business, and be comfortable working within an ERP-driven accounting environment. This role is being hired as an open-ended temporary engagement, with the potential for temp-to-perm if there is mutual interest.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and account reconciliations

Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Prepare and review financial statements, management reporting packages, and supporting schedules

Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
-
Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing cost analysis
-
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting
-
Partner closely with operations and leadership to improve visibility into cost, margin, and business performance
-
Support external audit, tax, and compliance requirements

Identify process improvement opportunities and help optimize ERP and financial reporting workflows
-
Provide leadership and direction to accounting staff while serving as a steady resource for the broader business
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
-
CPA preferred, but not required
-
5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
-
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
-
Experience in a manufacturing company strongly preferred
-
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems required

Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
